Honolulu
Pearl Harbor
The memorial site for the 1941 attack that brought the US into WWII.

Why go
One of the most significant historic places in the country.
The catch
Entry to the visitor centre, museums and grounds is free, but parking is $7 a day, paid by app or QR code. Bags are not allowed in - there is paid storage by the entrance, but it is easier to leave everything in the car. The Arizona Memorial boat needs a separate timed ticket booked well ahead.

Getting there
Driving times on real roads, from the same data the trip planner routes on — not straight-line distance.
| From Waikīkī | 23 min | 12 miles |
|---|---|---|
| From HNL airport | 24 min | 8.5 miles |
| From Downtown Honolulu | 16 min | 8.7 miles |
| From Ala Moana | 19 min | 10 miles |
Add traffic. These are free-flowing times, and the H1 through town at eight in the morning is not free-flowing.
