the Windward side
Likeke Falls
A wide, low fall over mossy rock, reached by a short walk off the old Pali road.

Why go
It is the shortest walk to a real waterfall on this side of the island, and the old cobbled highway on the way in is a sight in itself.
The catch
The usual access runs through a golf course and the etiquette around it changes; check the current route. Slippery basalt the whole way.

Getting there
Driving times on real roads, from the same data the trip planner routes on — not straight-line distance.
| From Waikīkī | 27 min | 13.5 miles |
|---|---|---|
| From HNL airport | 44 min | 22.4 miles |
| From Kailua | 10 min | 5.2 miles |
| From Downtown Honolulu | 21 min | 10.1 miles |
Add traffic. These are free-flowing times, and the H1 through town at eight in the morning is not free-flowing.
